Kannamaly St Antony's Lower Primary school is located at a coastal, remote, rural village in Chellanam Grama Panchayath. Kannamaly is the strip of land between the Arabian Sea and the Vembanad Lake. Realizing the need of education for the fishermen people of the locality the then Parish priest of St. Antony's Parish Rev. Fr. Paul Alumkal took the initiative to start a primary school in 1929. St. Joseph Charity Fund was continuously helping for the up bring of this school from its early crisis. The first school was functioning in big hall with well elevated roof and spacious plinth area facilities. Four specious class rooms were functioning in that hall.
